peer-to- peer platform for entrepreneurs to share and exchange experiences, ideas and insights,
which helps them grow their enterprise and enrich themselves in a confidential environment. ASCENT
leverages the ‘Power of Collective’ and enables entrepreneurs through self-facilitated Trust
Groups and an extended network of enablers. In 2016, ASCENT created a large format Conclave (first
of its kind for the foundation) with the objective to inspire, share and celebrate entrepreneurs
in their growth journey for a much larger impact. The ASCENT Conclave 2016 and 2017 aimed to
achieve the following:
1. Delegates got an opportunity to learn from industry’s best Thought Leaders, Change Makers and Innovators through their experience which enabled participants to gain insights to grow their own business.
2. A platform for 500 entrepreneurs of enterprises of growth size ranging from 5 crs to 2000 crs for a day-long engagement/ networking opportunity

He was the President of FICCI in 2011. A true Indian retail czar, Kishore Biyani is the Group CEO of Future Group and Managing Director of Pantaloon Retail. Popularly known as KB, he is the man who triggered the concept of retail supermarkets in India like Big Bazaar, Pantaloon, Mega Mart and Bangalore Central. With his sheer ‘guts and instincts’ he created Future Group, a USD 1 billion enterprise and spearheaded the emergence of Pantaloon Retail as the leading retailer in the country.
Coming on-board the family business in 2005, Lavanya Nalli is presently the Vice-Chairperson of Nalli Silk Sarees Pvt. Ltd. Nalli brand has been synonymous with silk and Kanchipuram sarees. Established in the year 1928, it has now grown to be a leader in the textile and retail business. Lavanya has worked with the family to professionalize the set-up, ventured into successful product diversification and conceptualized and explored new retail-formats with the launch of the successful Nalli Next sub-brand. After a 5 year stint in the US, where Lavanya graduated from Harvard Business School and worked at McKinsey, she returned to Nalli and is presently heading the omnichannel platform. With each passing year, Nalli continues to grow with a legacy of over 90 years and a turnover of more than 650 crores.
PC Musthafa is the CEO and Co-founder of iD Fresh Food. In 2005, Musthafa along with his 4 other cousins set up iD in a small kitchen in Bangalore with a mission to make the preparation of home-made meals convenient and to become a fresh food brand admired and trusted world over growing into a 1000 crore market leader serving 100% natural food. Today iD Fresh produces around 50,000 kgs in their plant with a total investment of around Rs 4 crore (Rs 40 million) and revenue of Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion). From being a school drop-out to an IIM graduate, Musthafa’s temerity and focus has been a key to success for the company.
Nicolas Dumoulin is Managing Director for Michael Page India, based in Mumbai. Nicolas has over 12 years of experience working in the recruitment industry, having joined Michael Page in 2006 in Belgium. He played a key role in starting up the company’s Antwerp office and was responsible for their business until 2011. In January 2013, Nicolas relocated to India and took on responsibility for Michael Page India Gurgaon office. Shradha Sharma is the Founder, CEO and Chief Editor of YourStory which is a media technology platform for entrepreneurs. Before starting YourStory in 2008, Shradha served as an Assistant Vice-President at CNBC TV18 and also a brand adviser at The Times of India. Her company has been described as ‘India's biggest and definitive platform for startups and entrepreneurs-related stories, news, resources and research reports.’ The Bengaluru-based YourStory closely interacts with seed funders, accelerators, CEOs of Indian unicorns, marquee investors and influential members of government, to help build and expand the ecosystem they operate in.
Menaka Doshi is the Managing Editor of BloombergQuint.
